Are postmarks accepted or must my property tax payment reach the office by the due date?
Payment for taxes sent by mail can only be accepted by the date postmarked on the envelope. A metered postmark is not acceptable. It is suggested that if a taxpayer is mailing a payment near the deadline date, payment should be forwarded by registered or certified mail, return receipt requested.
