Suffolk County Partners in Prevention (PIP) will be launching a third “#JustCall” social media campaign which focuses on educating the community with information regarding Marijuana. This campaign will focus on legalization, dangers, THC, edibles, and long-term effects. The campaign will also highlight the Long Island Substance Use Hotline - (631)979-1700, for anyone who is struggling with addiction. It has been designed to help Suffolk County residents familiarize themselves with the new adult use law, so they can make informed decisions about safe Marijuana use.
The “#JustCall” campaign will be implemented on four Mondays: November 15th, November 22nd, November 29th and December 6th. It will begin right before the holiday season and will provide educational messaging to the community. PIP members are coordinating with organizations, agencies, schools/colleges, and coalitions throughout Suffolk County to share the “#JustCall” social media posts and information. The goal is to have these messages and supporting graphics reach all areas of Suffolk County.
The following PIP agencies collaborated on this campaign: Eastern Suffolk BOCES, Family Service League, Hope for Youth, Horizons Counseling and Education Center, HUGS, National Guard- Counter Drug Task Force, Long Island Prevention Resource Center, Suffolk County Department of Health Services, Tobacco Action Coalition, WellLife Network, YMCA Family Services, and Youth Enrichment Services.
