[ARCHIVED] A Hoyt Farm Halloweekend

Hoyt Halloween Team

Approximately 1200 Residents Enjoy Spooktacular Entertainment, Extravagant Costumes and a Haunting Time at the 16th Annual Hoyt Farm Halloweekend Festival

Hoyt Farm Nature Preserve hosted its 16th Annual Halloweekend on Saturday, October 16th, and Sunday, October 17th, 2021. The popular annual event traditionally sells out without much advertising. This year was no different, with roughly 1200 residents, between both days, participating in the festival weekend. Families enjoyed touring the festive preserve playing games, winning prizes, engaging in the entertainment, Fall fare, hot apple cider and piping hot chocolate.

“I am so grateful for the team at Hoyt Farm and our Parks Department. This is one of those events I refuse to miss every year. My grandkids have the time of their lives… and honestly so do I. Jeff, Sheryl, Kate, Dominick and the team at Hoyt Farm put so much passion and thoughtfulness into planning and orchestrating this event. It is truly indicative of how much they all love what they do and the community they do it for.” - Supervisor Ed Wehrheim

Each year, the team at Hoyt Farm Nature Preserve plan an elaborate and memorable Halloween festival for local families to enjoy. They devote weeks prior to orchestrating the whole weekend of fun which includes hayrides, pumpkin picking and decorating, spooky fun games, face painting, scavenger hunts and an unforgettable haunted house. The staff joins in the fun, dressed in unforgettable costumes to greet families who are dressed in Halloween costumes as well. The team at Hoyt Farm believes that a successful festival is one in which adults become kids and children become superheroes and mythical beings inside a magical and unforgettable atmosphere.

“We love to be able to transform Hoyt Farm from one of Smithtown's hidden gems into a timeless world of dreams and fantasies. We provide Smithtown residents with a Halloween/Fall festival that is safe and memorable. We are proud of the work that we put into the event each year and love seeing the children enjoy the old school magical feel of the season. “ - Jeff Gumin (Director of Hoyt Farm Nature Preserve) and the Hoyt Farm staff… Sheryl, Kate and Dominick
