The economic fallout from COVID 19 requires us all to do our part to ensure that our federal tax dollars come back to Smithtown. Suffolk County has informed the Town of Smithtown of a low response from our citizens in the 2020 census survey. The deadline of which is Wednesday, September 30th. We need your help now!
The Town of Smithtown is asking all residents to complete the 2020 Census questionnaire if you have not already done so. The September 30th deadline to be counted is quickly approaching!
Responding to the Census will ensure that Smithtown sees an appropriate return of our federal tax dollars to be invested back into our community, helping fund schools, roads, and other public services.
Census results have an impact on planning and funding for health clinics and highways, fire departments and disaster response, education programs such as Head Start and college tuition assistance, and so much more.
The 2020 Census questionnaire is quick and easy to complete. You have the option of completing the questionnaire online, by phone, or by mail. It only takes about 10 minutes and is completely safe, secure, and confidential. Your information and privacy are protected.
Please respond at my2020census.gov before the September 30th deadline. Participation in Suffolk County has been very low this year, and it is imperative that all residents participate to help shape our community’s future for the better.
Thank you!
