In an effort to protect the health and wellbeing of both the residents and town staff during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Town of Smithtown has orchestrated a Drive Through Tax Collection Operation. Beginning on Monday, May 11th through June 1st, residents wishing to pay their taxes in person can do so safely from the comfort of their cars. Payments made by check or cash are accepted in person through the drive through system.
Residents should wear face masks for additional safety upon arriving at the drive through. In an effort to continue social distancing measures, residents are encouraged to utilize the online system, or the Tax Receiver’s drop box, which is located at the front entrance of Town Hall. The secure drop box is checked by Tax Receiver’s Office staff multiple times a day.
