[ARCHIVED] Mama and Cassie: Smithtown Pets of the Week

MammaCassie

The Best Feline Friends, Mama and Cassie

The Smithtown Pets of the Week are Mama and Cassie, two Domestic Short Hair felines who are literally inseparable. Due to their very strong bond, they must be adopted together so they can both enjoy the same home. After being in the shelter for such a long time together, they would like nothing more than to go home with someone who they can call their new best friend. Their new owner would have twice the amount of love and twice the amount of fun.

Mama has been at the shelter for a long time. She came in after her owner unfortunately had to surrender her. Mama lives in a suite with her best pal, Cassie, a friend she made here at the Animal Shelter. Mama can be shy, but with time and patience, she will warm up to anybody. She is a very sweet gal.

Cassie came to the shelter when she was just 3 months old, and has been at the shelter for almost 10 long years. She can be shy, but she loves being petted and receiving attention from our volunteers. Cassie has such a great attitude and needs a new home to call her own Cat Condo!

Currently, there are a variety of male and female cats & kittens available to adopt or foster. If you are looking for a fun loving, yarn tossing ball of love, stop by the Kitten Nursery or the Cat Condos at the Smithtown Animal Shelter and find a PURR-fect soulmate or two!

All of the felines at the Shelter are current on vaccines and have received a full workup (blood work, Feline HIV & Leukemia tested, physical exam etc.) by a board certified Veterinarian.

Thinking About Adoption:

The Smithtown Animal Shelter’s primary concern is finding the perfect home for each animal that finds his/her way to us. The Animal Control Officers at the Smithtown Animal Shelter will go out of their way to ensure both the rescued and rescuer are made for one another. If you have other pets, you can arrange to bring your four-legged family member into the shelter, or we can set up an at home meet & greet to see how your prospective new addition does with other family members, pets, or the household itself.

Walk-In Hours at Smithtown Animal Shelter are currently Monday - Friday 8AM - 4:30 PM and Saturday 8AM - 3:30PM. (Sunday’s: by appointment only). To Inquire about the Pet of the Week or to meet your potential soulmate, please call the Smithtown Animal & Adoption Center at 631-360-7575.
