PUBLIC NOTICE
ANNOUNCEMENT OF PUBLIC HEARING
TOWN OF SMITHTOWN
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM YEAR 2019
In April 2019, the Town of Smithtown expects to receive approximately $242,375.00 in Federal Community Development Block Grant funds. These funds may be used, and have previously been used, for a variety of projects to be selected by local officials.
Eligible activities include:
- Acquisition and demolition of blighted property
- Housing rehabilitation
- Elimination of physical barriers to the handicapped
- Improvement of parks, open space and recreational facilities
- Improvement of streets
- Business district revitalization
- Neighborhood improvement programs
- Public water projects
All projects must meet one of three broad national objectives: to benefit low and moderate income persons; to prevent or eliminate slums and blighting conditions; or to meet an urgent community development need.
Smithtown residents are invited to attend a public hearing on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at 2:00 P.M., at the Town of Smithtown Town Hall, Patrick R. Vecchio Building, Victor T. Liss Board Room, 99 West Main Street, Smithtown, NY to express their views on local needs to be met with these funds.
AT THE AFOREMENTIONED TIME OR PLACE, a Public Hearing will be held and all interested persons shall be given an opportunity to be heard.
