The Landing Avenue Bridge, which has been closed for the past three-weeks due to construction work is expected to open by next weekend.
“We are shooting for rush hour Friday,” said Lori Baldassare, Government Liaison Officer for the Suffolk County Department of Public Works.
A three-month, $80,000 rehabilitation project on the bridge began on July 24, starting with a three-week closure to all traffic as workers poured a new concrete deck.
Work will continue on the bridge, but will remain open to traffic.
"Additional roadwork will take another month or so but no more road closures, said Baldassare.
Residents are asked to use alternate routes including 25A, Rose Street and Oakside Road.
