[ARCHIVED] Smithtown Pets of the Week

WILLOW, THE WAGGING WONDER DOG

The Smithtown Animal and Adoption Center is proud to introduce this week’s Pet of the Week, named Willow. This two year old Female Pittie mix is spayed, microchipped, fully vaccinated and would make a great family pet. She is what we call a “whole body wagger” and will give you the greatest welcome home greeting you have ever experienced. Willow is okay with some dogs but not cats. She would love some kids to call her own, to play with her all summer long!

Willow came to the Shelter as a relocation pup
(with Rex and Oreo who have been adopted by loving families) from the Town of
Hempstead. She has been with us at the shelter since March, but has yet to lose
hope. Willow is very outgoing and curious. She will give anyone a chance to pet
behind those big and tall ears. She is young, healthy and full of love to give
to one very lucky family.

If you are interested in meeting Willow or one
of the wonderful rescue dogs at the Smithtown Animal & Adoption Center,
please call ahead to book an hour to properly interact with her in a domestic
setting, which includes our Meet and Greet Room, the dog runs and our Dog Walk
trail.

Kittens Kittens & More Kittens: Tis the
season for kittens and we are certainly in no short supply. Currenly there are
a variety of male and female kittens available to adopt or foster, from red
headed to cobalt blue, calico and turtoise shell domestic short-hair and long…
If you are looking for a fun loving, yarn tossing ball of love, stop in at the
Smithtown Animal Shelter today and find your PURR-fect soulmate or two!

All kittens (and cats) are current on vaccines
and have received a full workup (blood work, Feline HIV & Leukemia tested,
physical exam ect) by a board certified Veterinarian. In addition to these two
playful brothers, the Animal Shelter has a variety of kittens available for
adoption (or to foster) in addition to older, wiser and loving cats.

Thinking About Adoption:

The Smithtown Animal & Adoption Centers
primary concern is finding the perfect home for each animal that finds his/her
way to us. The Animal Control Officers at the Smithtown Animal & Adoption
Center will go out of their way to ensure both the rescued and rescuer are made
for one another. If you have other pets, you can arrange to bring your
four-legged family member into the shelter or we can set up an at home meet
& greet to see how your prospective family member does with other family
members, pets or the household itself.

Summer hours at Smithtown Animal & Adoption
Center are currently Monday - Friday 8AM - 4:30PM and Saturday 8AM - 4:00PM.
(Sunday’s: by appointment only). To Inquire about the pet of the week or to
meet your potential soulmate, please call the Smithtown Animal & Adoption
Center at 631-360-7575.
