On Saturday, the Town of Smithtown Department of Environment and Waterways is hosting its bi-annual Household Hazardous Waste event. All residents wishing to properly discard toxic products or empty cans including herbicides, pesticides, pool chemicals, varnish, stains, antifreeze and other products labeled “Toxic” or “Hazardous” may do at the Municipal Services facility on Old Northport Road in Kings Park. Any hazardous waste can be dropped off between 7am and 3pm on Saturday, April 21st, 2018.
Did You Know...
In addition to hosting the Household Hazardous Waste Event, the Municipal Services Facility also accepts Peanut and other cooking oils for disposal.
Residence can also dispose of Electronic waste, free of charge, at the Town Recycling Center (also located at 85 Old Northport Road). Electronic Waste such as computers, printers, TV’s, monitors, automotive and household batteries can be dropped off during regular hours for proper recycling.

Proof of residency is required upon bringing unwanted household chemicals for disposal at the semi-annual household hazardous waste disposal event. The Town of Smithtown Municipal Services Facility, is located at 85 Old Northport Road in Kings Park,NY.
