Posted on October 2, 2019 at 3:35 PM by spio spio

A Site Plan has been proposed for BJ’s in Commack.

The proposal is to demolish the existing 2-story Macys and construct a BJ’s Wholesale Club.

The Board of Zoning Appeals (BZA) will hear the applicant at the upcoming BZA meeting to be held on October 22nd.

The new store is proposed at the site of the existing Macy’s. In addition, the applicant proposed several modifications to improve traffic circulation. The cross-access to the Target Shopping Center to the east and the Commack Corners Shopping Center to the west are proposed to remain.

Variances are required for parking reduction, rear buffer and required landscape islands, as well as increasing the building height by five feet. Variances for wall and ground signs have also been issued.

If approved by the BZA, the applicant will need to file an application to the Board of Site Plan Review. Proposed Building Elevation
