Suffolk County Office for People with Disabilities

The primary mission of the Suffolk County Office of Handicapped Services is to coordinate County services for people with disabilities; develop programs that assist people with disabilities in becoming more self-sufficient; advocate for changes to resolve issues facing the disabled; provide information and referrals for County residents with disabilities; and provide specialized services not available through the other county departments. In addition, the Office ensures County government compliance with federal mandates under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Rehabilitation Act.

Mental Hygiene Services

The Division of Community Mental Hygiene Services is the local governmental unit responsible for the coordination and oversight of all community services to persons with alcohol and substance abuse problems, mental illness, mental retardation and/or developmental disabilities.

Association for Mental Health & Wellness

As the local chapter of Mental Health America and of the Mental Health Association of New York State, it is our mission to drive evidence-based practices, information, education, and resources to the residents of Suffolk County.
