The Town Board of the Town of Smithtown, as SEQRA Lead Agency, issued a SEQRA Positive Declaration regarding the above referenced proposal on November 5, 2019, thereby requiring the preparation of an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) regarding these applications. Scoping of the EIS is required by law and the project sponsor has recently submitted a Draft Scoping Document to the Town of Smithtown.

The Draft Scoping Document as submitted by the applicant is posted on this website. All items identified in the Draft Scoping Document will be addressed in the subsequent Environmental Impact Statement. At this time, the Town is requesting written comments from the public identifying additional issues which should reasonably be considered in the Environmental Impact Statement.

The comment period on the Draft Scoping Document runs until 5:00 pm on January 17, 2020. Upon completion of the comment period, the Town will prepare a Final Written Scope which will provide the basis for the subsequent Draft Environmental Impact Statement to be prepared regarding this proposal
