Responsibilities & Services

The Smithtown Water District serves portions of Smithtown, Kings Park, Commack, and Hauppauge. The district is governed by a Board of Water Commissioners, which meets at every regularly scheduled Town Board meeting. Water District employees are on call 24/7.

Water Rates

Effective January 1, 2020 water rates are $ 0.017647 per each cubic foot of water usage, and a quarterly base fee of $25.37

Water Quality

Water quality is regulated by the United States Environmental Protection Agency, the New York State Health Department, and the Suffolk County Health Department.

A consumer confidence report is available to our customers annually by May 31st.

Water Bill Notices

• Bills more than 60 days outstanding are subject to a 10% penalty.
• Unpaid balances become tax liens on October 15th of every year.
